Wendy, having a fearof public speaking, cant help it after reading John 3

If you have never broken the sound barrier for outdoor evangelism, one way that we reach the lost is to choose an appropriate passage in scripture and read it in the public. There is nothing quite like reading God’s Word, and it really does speak for itself. Soon, you will want to preach on the scripture after you read it aloud.

We suggest choosing a place where people are walking or otherwise enjoying the outdoors. Just open up the scripture and read it aloud. People usually will stop and listen wondering what it is you are doing.

We also select special scriptures for holidays when people are very likely to stop by and listen. This past Maunday Thursday, we read John 13-17 in the open air, then Good Friday, we opened up the scriptures to Matthew 25-28.

Holidays are especially nice to read the scriptures because people are naturally aware of some of the significance. There are also great places where many people are gathered, especially on days like the 4th of July and the day after Thanksgiving.

We strongly recommend if you want to get involved in open-air evangelism practice reading a chapter of the Bible, then find a busy place, and just read! You will never be the same!!
